City of Austin Homeless Alert: Cold Weather Shelter (CWS) Status
Overnight Cold Weather Shelters are activated 01/18/2025 through 1/22/2025. Individuals who enter the shelters on the night of Sunday January 19 may remain in the shelters all day Monday January 20.
Registration for shelter will occur each day between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at One Texas Center (OTC), 505 Barton Springs Road. This will act as the central embarkation point for individuals seeking overnight shelter.
Help Spread the Word About Cold Weather Shelters (CWS)
Let’s come together to support our neighbors living outside during freezing conditions. When temperatures drop to 35°F or below, Cold Weather Shelters (CWS) are activated.
Please print the flyers (available in English and Spanish) and fill in the activation date. Keep a few in your car or bag, so you’re ready to share them when CWS is activated. By handing these out, you can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
